Linking to Vietnam with Anthony Bourdain

via

Every chance I get, I read a book, watch a TV show or movie about Vietnam.
It helps to get me in the right frame of mind. I recently discovered Anthony Bourdain.
It seems I am late to this party. That is what I get for living away from the USA for the last 13 years.
Good things come to those who wait...I have enjoyed watching his travels. If you are interested
in travelling to Vietnam...you might enjoy these as well.

Taking Notes: Philippines

One of the nice things about being based in Vietnam is the access to other areas of Asia.
I spotted this photo on Facebook this morning and decided it was time to start a file
on the Philippines. First up....

Miniloc Island- El Nido Philippines via
El Nido Resorts- a group of eco-resorts located in the El Nido-Taytay
municipalities in northern Palawan, Philippines. The photo above is featured on Miniloc Island
They say it is for the young and young at heart. I am going to have a think on that one. :)

Amanpulo - Pamalican Island Philippines via

Aman Resorts-  Aman is the Sanskrit word for Peace and the Tagalog word for island
It is five kilometeres long and 500 metres across at its widest point. I am feeling the peace.
The resort, Amanpulo, is part of the Quiniluban Group of Cuyo Islands. White sand,
clear blue waters and a coral reef 300 metres from the shore.
I am feeling the love for the island.

If you have any suggestions,
I would be happy to add them to my list.

Images as noted above.

In a flutter...anticipating life in Saigon

Our driveway to be.

Just a few weeks to go before we move...
I am getting excited, in a crazy mixed up sort of way.
Splitting our belongings between a shipment to Australia
and one to Vietnam is taxing to say the least.

At the moment, it is rain, rain, rain and more rain in London.
It is heat, heat, heat and more heat in Ho Chi Minh.
Let's see..heat, rain, heat, rain..
Wait...there is a rainy season in Vietnam.
This weather has me all in a flutter.
I must move on from that topic.

The pots above were taken by the previous tenant to their new home.
My job is to replace them.
Now this part of the move, I like!

Mr. H referred to parts of the garden as potential snake havens
if I add in some of the plants I am thinking of.
Now that part, I do not like!

I hate snakes.....

PS..

The weather and traffic...
someone asked about the traffic in Ho Chi Minh City,
is it really that bad they asked?

You have to see it to believe it!
